Keeping Your Computer Safe Part 2

March 16, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free
The focus is primarily on Windows (win10 and 11) computers, and finding, installing and updating software. This is part 2 of our series.

Thursday, March 16, 2023 2:00-4:00 pm

In-person OR via Zoom

The focus is primarily on Windows (win10 and win11) computers, though some of this applies more broadly. Finding, installing, and updating other software. Browser configuration (Windows Edge, Firefox & Chrome) and safe browsing. Antivirus (AV) and Firewall (FW) configuration (Windows Defender & McAfee). What to do when disaster strikes, Internet connections and recognizing scams.

To get the most out of this semester Keep Safe 1 is recommended – especially how to access the configuration options for updating windows, several of the basic skills, and preparing for disaster. Especially when I discuss what to do when disaster strikes there is not enough time in this seminar to go into detail on items covered in Keep Safe 1.
