Seek Lifelong Learning
Did you know, 40 percent of kids in grades 4-8 reported they connected or chatted online with a stranger; or 1 in 5 children will be sexually solicited online? Join Allie, Child Abuse Prevention and Outreach Supervisor from the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Michigan, to learn about potential online dangers facing our children today. This presentation will include discussion about specific games and apps most commonly used by kids and teens, online predators and common grooming practices, and the correlation between increased screen time and negative health and emotional outcomes. We will also discuss resources for caregivers and prevention strategies to mitigate these potential online risks. While technology is constantly evolving, it is our job as caregivers to be informed and protect our children!
